Can't post to wall on fb account creation/connection

I just setup a couple of rules to test both the stable and latest dev release of this module. It turns out that I can post to members' facebook walls on a node action (like posting a node of a certain type) but not simply upon site registration. I'd love to post a message on facebook saying that user xyz has signed up on our site but when I setup rules with either event ('user connected existing own account to facebook' or 'user registered using facebook connect') with the action 'post an update on users facebook wall' no fb wall post gets posted!?
