Instagram comic auctions are bringing in thousands for sellers in a COVID-19 world
When the pandemic hit, essentially halting everything from new issues to comic cons in March, some industry insiders predicted the halt would create "an extinction-level event" for comic book shops around the country. Retailers wouldn’t have stock to sell, buyers would cease to care, and the market would collapse. While there's no denying every brick-and-mortar shop across the country has felt the sting from a loss of weekly foot traffic, the customers themselves have not stopped buying.
