Fundraising permit RA/2019/438 is valid until 31.03.2021 in all of Finland not including the Aland islands.The Jewish Community in Helsinki maintains a kindergarden, elementary school, Jewish Cultural Center, and a synagogue. In addition to the hundreds of people who use the facilities every day, the Community welcomes more than a hundred visiting school and tourist groups. If it was any other school, congregation or cultural center in Finland, no scrutiny of people coming into or leaving the building would be necessary. This is not any other place. Just by following the news do we know that there are individuals and groups of people in the world, in Europe and in Finland, because of whom the Jewish Community of Helsinki has for the past decade had to improve its security in a very rapid pace by hiring security personnel, investing in infrastructure and recruiting volunteers to take care of the safety of the people using our facilities.
