Are you guys on Facebook?

Nick has been on me to get a myspace or facebook account for ever. He thinks it will help spread the word about the blog and also, um, my book (he's sort of my publicist). I've resisted: To be honest, it's just not my thing. I'm still slightly scared of the Internet and I always thought these things were for younger people. Or at least that's what I've been saying. Then over the weekend, we saw some friends we rarely see (a smart, sophisticated D.C.-based couple) and they both couldn't believe someone like me (a blogger, a writer, an author) wasn't on facebook. Needless to say, Nick's been building me a profile ever since. Here's the problem: I'm afraid it's going to be just another thing I don't pay enough attention to, something that nags at me like unwritten thank you notes or the unanswered e-mails I actually forwarded from my Glamour account to my personal account when I left so that they could continue to haunt me. Then again, maybe facebook will help me stay connected so I don't wither into oblivion ou
