Peggy Mollet - Tuesday, October 1st, 2013

Peggy Earleen Hucka Mollet, born March 8, 1930 in Laurens, Iowa to Earl and Leta Hucka, died peacefully in her sleep at Westwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility on October 1, 2013. She spent her early life on the farm of her maternal Grandfather and Grandmother Orwig in north central Iowa. She graduated from Laurens High School in 1947 where she played basketball and was very involved with anything to do with music. Peggy was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice and was known around Iowa for her Saturday morning radio show on which she sang. She went to cosmetology school in Sioux City, Iowa, and continued to sing for events in and around Sioux City. While attending a dance in Sioux City, she met Carl Mollet of Jefferson, SD. This began a 50 year love affair. Carl and Peggy were married on May 2, 1949 and moved to Beresford, SD to begin their life together on the family farm.
