How to Update Instagram Story Highlight Covers (without posting them to your story)

Instagram Highlights were introduced on Instagram in 2018, but they rolled out to users with no rhyme or reason.Previously you had to add an image to your story before you could update your highlight story cover but now you can update the highlight cover without posting them to your story.
