Bonnieta Fye - Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013
Bonnieta B. Ambrose Fye RN passed away at home on July 3, 2013. She had turned 89 on June 22. She was born to George and Bessie Lester Ambrose in 1924, in Webster City, Iowa. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1943; later, she went back to school and earned her RN certification from Allen Memorial Nursing Program in 1959 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Upper Iowa University in 1962. Most of Bonnieta's nursing career was spent caring for veterans at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She loved serving her country by providing compassion and care for veterans from WWII, Korean and Viet Nam conflicts. Bonnieta loved America and loved Iowa; her state legislators and U.S. Congressmen and Senators received information from her regularly about our environment and everything that impacts it. She also contacted them about health, energy, minority, and veterans' issues, and peace.
