Los Angeles — U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders today weighed in on the LAUSD School Board election in a tweet shared with his 10 million followers. Bernie said: “Right now, the charter industry is working overtime to buy the local school board race in Los Angeles in an attempt to privatize public schools. I stand with UTLA in their fight against privatization and for more investment in public education.” Bernie went on to officially endorse Patricia Castellanos in the heated battle for District 7.
