Le Mars, Iowa – Nancy L. Johnson, 68, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Brentwood Good Samaritan Village in Le Mars. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars, Iowa. Rev. Gary Landsness will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral service on Monday. Nancy Lee Earnest was born on August 9, 1941 in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of John “Jay” and Theodora “Teddy” (Root) Earnest. She attended Catholic grade school in Akron and graduated from Akron High School in 1959. Nancy continued her education at the University of Iowa and Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska.
